Six Day Turnaround From Order to Delivery for a New Combine at Newton Lodge Farms

Newton Lodge Farms near Bedford were thinking of changing brands of combine and trialling many this harvest.  Scott Kirbyshire and Dan Massey carried out a demo on 26th July.  Combine specialist Steve Buckett and Aaron Poulson from Tuckwells Technologies showed the tech on the combine.  This included, new for this harvest, the “Harvest Lab”.

The demo was a hit!  Confirming to the customer that the machine and Tuckwells were the way to go after this harvest.

BUT… fast forward 3 days and a major break down on their old Massey and things changed. We quoted a stock John Deere T670i with a 730D header, for delivery this harvest.

Getting the machine on farm
Now the task of getting their new machine on farm ASAP!  With the combine at Maulden, Bedfordshire and the header in Worlingworth, Suffolk, there was work to be done.

A huge thank you to Richard Chennells at Maulden, who got the combine ready and cleaned in record time.

Meanwhile, Worlingworth service department oversaw a massive push by Joe Almond, Johnny Hill, Louis Stewart and Will Lawrence to complete the header by Friday night.  Roger and Tony of the transport team then took over and delivered the header from Suffolk to Bedfordshire early Saturday morning.

Finally, Richard Chennells pushed on through monsoon conditions on Saturday.  He managed to get both machines paired and on the Monday we made the delivery.  This was just six days after we shook hands on the new T670i combine!

Setting off
Scott set off the machine and Rick from Newton Lodge was in the seat harvesting by Monday afternoon.

Above all, thank you very much to Newton Lodge Farms for the purchase. Furthermore, to the team for your hard work in getting the machine delivered and harvesting in record time.
