What to expect from a John Deere Land-Based Service Technician apprenticeship:

The programme is a fantastic start to your working career, setting you on a rewarding long-term career path while making a real contribution to our continued growth.

We offer fully accredited John Deere Land-Based Service Technician apprenticeships for:

  • Agricultural Technicians – emphasis on agricultural machinery
  • Turf Technicians – the same skills as the Agricultural Technician but with emphasis on machines used by sports turf businesses and garden machinery.

Ag Tech and Turf Tech apprentices will initially work towards the Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard. Having completed Level 2, apprentices, subject to approval, may then progress to the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

The course combines on the job training at a Tuckwell depot with blocks of residential training at the John Deere Training Centre in Nottinghamshire.  All travel and accommodation costs are covered by the employer.

Why pick an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships provide the first step on the ladder of opportunity to really great prospects – enabling you to climb, rung by rung, towards greater earning potential and future prosperity. By allowing you to earn while you learn, there’s no need to pay fees or take out a loan, and you gain a brilliant hands-on experience in your chosen industry.
Managing Director James Tuckwell is a strong believer in the programme and in the development of young people, stating “I was given a great start to life and learnt my trade both on our farm, in our workshops and in the classroom. We want to give these opportunities to the next generation and an apprenticeship at Tuckwells is the foundation for a successful career.”
