Tuckwells Team Conquers National Three Peaks Challenge!

Huge congratulations to the Tuckwells team, who successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in under 24 hours while raising an amazing amount of money for Cancer Support Suffolk and YANA.

The current total raised is £4,900, which means the team has already smashed its original target of £2,500. However, donations are still very welcome, and any further support through the JustGiving page would be greatly appreciated.

Setting off on Friday evening, the team travelled north ready to begin what would become one of the toughest challenges many of them had ever faced. Over the next 24 hours they climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), covering approximately 23 miles on foot, tackling around 3,000 metres of ascent and travelling hundreds of miles between each mountain.

The team, made up of Neil Ellis, Rhys Taylor, Jagat Gauchan, Andy Sampson, Martin Clarke, Jamie Hughes, Sam Barton, Dexter Cox, Ryan Bird, George Whelan and James Tuckwell, were supported throughout by dedicated drivers Tristan Gale and Tom Close, whose efforts played a vital role in the challenge’s success.

The challenge tested every aspect of the team’s physical and mental resilience. Along the way, they encountered a variety of weather conditions, from challenging winds to changing visibility. With very little sleep and many hours spent either climbing steep terrain or travelling between peaks, fatigue inevitably set in. Yet the team kept putting one foot in front of the other, encouraging one another along the way.

The challenge was undertaken in support of two charities with strong personal and industry connections to Tuckwells.

Cancer Support Suffolk has provided invaluable support to colleague Rhys Taylor following his melanoma diagnosis and ongoing treatment. Rhys’s participation in the challenge was a powerful demonstration of courage, resilience and determination.

The team also raised funds for YANA (You Are Not Alone), a charity dedicated to supporting mental health within farming and rural communities — a cause that resonates strongly with Tuckwells and our customers.

Most importantly, this challenge showed the very best of the Tuckwells spirit: colleagues supporting one another and working together towards a common goal!

A massive well done to the team – it is an outstanding achievement, and everyone at Tuckwells is incredibly proud of what you have accomplished.

Thank you as well to everyone who has donated, offered encouragement and followed the team’s progress. Your support helped drive the team on every step of the journey and you can still donate using the link below…
