Tuckwells celebrates Armed Forces Day

Today is Armed Forces Day, a chance to show your support for the men and women who have served and continue to serve as part of the Armed Forces community. At Tuckwells we are fortunate enough to have staff from all walks of life but today we are bringing attention to James Clark and Phil Rootes.

Our customers will know James Clark from our Ardleigh Outlet as their trusted Service Technician, however before he joined Tuckwells he spent 23 years in the Royal Air Force. From 1986 until 2009 James was an Aircraft Technician where he worked at numerous stations including Wattisham, Brize Norton, Cottesmore, St Athan and Lossiemouth. At these Stations he worked on a number of different Aircraft including Phantoms, Hercules, Tristar, VC10 and Tornado. James also took part in over eight operational tours including Afghanistan and Iraq and left the forces as a Sergeant. James thoroughly enjoyed every minute of his time in the forces and now we are proud to have him at Tuckwells.

The second member of the Tuckwells team we are celebrating today is Phil Rootes, who along with being an Service Technician is also a member of the Army Reserve, as a Lance Corporal. Currently Phil is  an active member of the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) at 133 Recovery Company based in Ashford and has been a ‘reservist’ over 12 years. He is a class 1 vehicle mechanic in the Army which means he is trusted to service a range of army vehicles from Land Rovers to tanks! We are privileged to have him as part of our Tuckwells team and fortunate to have a skilled member of the Armed Forces supporting our customers whenever they need him.
