The Role

Next-step career opportunity for an experienced turf machinery sales professional.  Representing Tuckwells and John Deere in the lucrative South London, Sussex and Surrey sales territory.  Targeting football clubs, local authorities and other commercial turf machinery users, this is a unique opportunity to forge an enviable career working with the best brands in the industry.

Working as part of our specialist turf machinery team, this role also offers a level of responsibility for turf within our outlets and inventory across the territory.

Responsible for sales and marketing operations across the Tuckwells south west territory. This includes the development and implementation of the sales strategy, sales department vision, annual objectives, sales processes and marketing plans to ensure growth. In addition to the normal role of a sales professional, the regional turf lead will take responsibility for turf presence at the outlets and local stock control.

Essential Duties

  • Create and maintain relationships with all local authorities within your area of responsibility
  • Monitor and respond to procurement and tender opportunities
  • Identify and target professional machinery operators and businesses
  • Advise on machinery types, suitability and options
  • Arrange demonstrations directly with the customer or with the sales support team
  • Arrange delivery of turf machinery directly or with the sales support team
  • Achieve sales targets as developed and agreed in the annual team strategy
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for the region for all turf products
  • Maintain a turf presence and suitable displays at relevant outlets in the region
  • Work with the junior sales professionals and offer guidance
  • Work with marketing team for promotions and advertising
  • Keep up to date with all available products including competitor brands
  • Maintain an awareness of values of new and used equipment including competitors’
  • Work with the demo team to ensure equipment suitability
  • Work with group sales manager to maintain stock availability and minimise used/aged inventory
  • Create quotations and manage pricing to maximise sales opportunities
  • Use CRM to log all enquiries, opportunities and contacts
  • Assist with open days and regional shows as required

Skills and Experience

  • Regional knowledge of turf machinery users
  • Turf machinery experience
  • Sales experience
  • Willing to be flexible with hours to maintain our level of service in busy times
  • Computer literacy including MS office and CRM
  • Valid driving licence (a trailer licence is also desirable but not essential)
