The Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, the main purpose of the job is to be able to carry out high standard diagnostics, servicing and repairs to agricultural equipment for new and existing customers.

This is a customer facing role which requires you to build strong customer relationships and deliver world class customer service.

Essential Duties

  • Service and maintain John Deere and other agricultural equipment to the manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Repair and service machines to the agreed work plan to bring them up to the required standards.
  • Inspect and test completed machines to ensure they are operating at expected performance levels, reporting any further defects or suspect conditions to the customer. 
  • Ensure due care is given to customer and company property.
  • Provide the best possible levels of customer service at all times.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience – knowledge and experience of a variety of machinery ideally, construction, agricultural, industrial or commercial vehicle based machines. Use of field based diagnostic tools and equipment is essential.
  • Relationship Builder – ability to interact with customers and develop/build a relationship that ultimately delivers a positively satisfying experience. To build and document knowledge of customers and their technical operations, feeding back any important information.
  • Communication – ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally.

The Role
An apprenticeship with us will give you the opportunity to learn the Service Technician’s role, dividing your time between a dedicated technical training school and the depot.  

Supported by a mentor, you will work on basic repairs of agricultural and/or turf equipment to gain hands on, practical experience.  You will also join additional online training to gain the necessary Service Certification by the end of the apprentice period. 

Essential Duties

  • Performs basic service tasks & develops skills in removal, disassembly and reconditioning of components. 
  • Assists Technicians as needed. 
  • Reports weekly to a mentor or Service Manager regarding ongoing activities and progression. 
  • Learns to maintain the condition of inventory, tools and equipment.

  • Makes regular contact with the team to ensure prompt and accurate customer service.
  • Monitors workflow and progress of jobs. 
  • Regularly provides progress reports to the Service / Aftersales Manager.
  • Inspects and signs off work completed by the team within their AOR ensuring High work standards
  • Carries out extra duties as required by the service manager to assist in the smooth running of the department.
  • Fills in for the Service/ Aftermarket Manager in his absence by taking telephone calls, distributing workload.

Role:               Vaderstad Specialist
Location:        Worlingworth Depot, IP13 7HU

Reporting to: Demonstration Manager (based at Dunmow Depot)

Tuckwells are the longest established and one of the largest Vaderstad dealers in the UK

The Role

This new role has a specific focus on our Vaderstad machinery, new and existing.  Responsible for the build-up of over 40 new machines per year, you will work through the entire process from machine arrival, build, checking and PDI through to following the machinery to the farm and liaising with the customer to ensure their satisfaction.  You will also liaise with customers about their existing Vaderstad machines, proactively working with them on their aftersales requirements.

Machines you’ll work on will include rapid drills, topdowns, carriers and tempo drills to name a few.

The role reports to the Demonstrations Manager who is based at the Dunmow Depot.

Essential Duties

  • Yard based build-up of machines from kits
  • Checking the quality and accuracy of each build to ensure they are ‘work ready’
  • Responsible for PDI and sign off
  • Liaising with the existing Demonstration and Optimisation Team to ensure high quality machines and a smooth transition and delivery
  • Visits to customers (in conjunction with the Optimisation Team) when their machinery is delivered
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Provide the best possible levels of customer service at all times
  • To be seen internally as ‘the knowledge hub’ for Vaderstad, sharing knowledge and troubleshooting to assist our workshop teams
  • Proactively appraising customers’ existing machinery and offering advise along with hints and tips to enable them to get the best out of their machines.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Administrator to fill this busy, customer facing role.  No previous Turf knowledge is needed as training will be given.

Responsible for the workshop administration including booking jobs and monitoring their process, keeping customers updated and introducing/updating and maintaining processes.

To work closely with the Service Manager to ensure a smooth running, efficient workshop and happy customers.

Essential Duties

  • Answering incoming calls, dealing with queries/directing to the relevant person
  • Keeping customers informed of job timings and progress, including any increases in bill totals and visit dates and times
  • Making follow-up calls to customers
  • Collating and inputting timesheets for the engineers on a daily basis
  • Gathering data about repairs prior to an engineer’s visit
  • Checking all completed jobs to ensure they are finished and accurate for both parts and labour
  • Processing invoices and credits for the workshop
  • Making sure all warranty forms are with the Warranty Manager within the required time
  • Managing the Work in Progress (WIP) and making sure all retail WIP is no older than 30 days
  • Helping the Service Manager with work scheduling
  • Playing an active part in the introduction, transition to and support of a new online Service App.
